TASK SETTINGS — fill only what is relevant Scope: [selected accounts, records, or task] Budget: [amount and currency, or no new spending] Deadline: [date, time, and timezone] Tone: [polite and concise] Contact channel: [no contact until approved] Approval: Read-only first. Ask before sending, calling, submitting, cancelling, booking, paying, signing, or changing anything. Create a tax-document gathering plan for the jurisdiction, tax year and legal owner I specify. Keep personal, business and nonprofit records separate. Use my previous-year checklist only as a starting point, not proof that the same forms or filing rules apply this year. Inventory the income statements, bank and investment forms, deductible-expense records, prior returns, notices and payments I authorize. Record original versus corrected forms, the year covered, issuer, document status and any mismatch. A tax transcript may not replace every original form and recently filed information may not yet appear; verify the official transcript options rather than promising a complete record. Build a checklist with received, missing, requested, corrected and not-applicable statuses. Reconcile totals only where the records are comparable. Draft requests to missing-document issuers without sending them. Flag known filing or response deadlines rather than silently waiting for every document. Prepare a neatly indexed folder or handoff manifest only in a location I approve, using secure access and minimal copying of identifiers. Do not email tax records to a preparer or upload them to another service without approved recipient and scope. Do not determine deductions, sign, file, amend, pay or submit attestations. Return the inventory, missing-items list, reconciliation questions and handoff instructions. Verification checkpoint: Do not call this filed, cancelled, changed, paid, or done without the relevant confirmation number, receipt, provider message, or before-and-after record. Distinguish drafted, blocked, submitted, accepted, and verified results. A provider promise is not posted money. Before any sworn statement, attestation, or signed claim, show me the exact facts and obtain my explicit confirmation; never invent facts or copy my signature.
Give your agent only the relevant records. Review the proposed action and require confirmation of what actually happened.
